Create Your Own Video

A how-to guide to creating your own 'youth voice' video for

What should my video be about?
With we are investigating young people's opinions regarding the future of learning. Have a discussion before you start producing a video. You might want to consider questions like:

  • How will we learn in the future?
  • How should we learn?
  • What should you learn?
  • What do you like most about your education now?
  • What role will technology play in the future?
  • Do we need teachers, if yes how will their role change?
  • How should your achievements be assessed?
  • Who should assess you?
  • What do you fear you will lose as education changes?
  • How will we acquire and share knowledge with each other as technology develops?
  • Will there be negative as well as positive impacts?
  • Who will decide? Who will benefit?

Don’t feel like you must answer all of these, they are simply starting points for discussion. Don’t be afraid to be unorthodox. We want to know your ideas and wishes.

What Should My Video Look Like?
We want your video to be as unique as possible. Some tips:

Say what matters. What you are saying is the most important, so make sure the spoken content is interesting and unique.
Use your own language. Speak in your own language and please include a transcript in your language and in English.
Think visually. Make use of the fact you are being seen as well as heard; be expressive and visually interesting. Feel free to experiment with different settings, but make sure you can be easily heard when you speak.
Keep it short. Aim for a length between 20 and 90 seconds; long enough to say something of interest, but not a long speech.
Keep it simple. Aim for a single unbroken recording, but do cut if you feel it’s necessary.
Stick to one or two points. Don’t try to address all the issues.
Have fun. Enjoy making the video! You can be sincere and informative and still have a great time.
